Balkaur Singh, father of late singer Sidhu Moosewala, announces the arrival of their newborn son, thanking well-wishers and expressing gratitude for the family’s health.

Balkaur Singh, father of late singer Sidhu Moosewala has announced the arrival of their newborn son. “With the blessings of lakhs and crores of souls desiring Shubhdeep, the Eternal Lord has put Shubh’s little brother in our lap. Thanks to the blessings of God, the family is healthy and I am grateful for the immense love of all well-wishers,” Balkaur Singh wrote on Instagram in Punjabi.

Charan Kaur was pregnant and will be delivering the baby in March. Moosewala was the only child of his parents, who are in their late 50s now. Citing sources,  Mossewala’s parents used In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and had travelled overseas for the procedure last year.

Just four days back, it looked like Balkaur Singh had denied the pregnancy speculations and had wrote on Facebook, “We are grateful to Sidhu’s well-wishers who are concerned about our family. But we request you not to believe the many rumors being circulated about the family. Any news will be shared by the family with all of you.”

Moosewala was murdered on May 29, 2022. Satwinder Singh alias Goldy Brar had claimed responsibility for the murder of popular singer Moosewala in Punjab on May 29, 2022. Brar is also known to be a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. His body had 19 bullet injury injuries and he died within 15 minutes of being shot, according to the post-mortem report. The report further stated that the cause of his death was “haemorrhage shock” due to ante-mortem firearm injuries Moosewala had contested from Mansa on a Congress ticket in the 2022 Punjab Assembly Elections. However, he was defeated by Aam Aadmi Party’s Dr Vijay Singla. The singer had joined the Congress in December 2021.

In the recent video, Balkaur held his son and smiled as the hospital staff gathered around him. Charan was seen smiling as she looked at her baby while lying on a bed. In the clip, Balkaur also fed his son milk with a spoon and later gave his blessings to the staff. He also cut a cake with them and fed a piece to one of the staff members. Balkaur also posed with his baby for the camera.

 

Earlier, he had shared a photo with the infant. The picture also had a photo frame of Sidhu in the background. Balkaur, dressed in a blue shirt and denims, held the baby in his arms. A cake was also kept on a table near him.

Balkaur captioned the post in Punjabi, “With the blessings of millions of souls who love Shubdeep, the Almighty has put Shubh’s younger brother in our lap. With the blessings of Waheguru, the family is healthy and I’m thankful to all the well-wishers for their immense love (folded hands emoji).”

Last week requested everyone not to believe them. Taking to his official Facebook account, he wrote a post in Punjabi, which read, “We are thankful to Sidhu’s fans who are concerned about our family. But we plead there are so many rumours going around about the family, they are not to be believed. Whatever news, the family will share with you all.”

Family sources confirmed to Tribune in February that Sidhu’s mother, Charan Kaur, underwent IVF (In vitro fertilisation) treatment and was successful in conceiving a baby, due in March. The report said Charan’s pregnancy was confirmed by Sidhu Moosewala’s uncle Chamkaur Singh.

Sidhu Moosewala, 28, was shot dead on May 29, 2022 in Mansa. He was declared dead on arrival at the Mansa Civil Hospital. The assailants fired over 30 rounds at him, who was found slumped in the driver’s seat by locals.

The incident took place a day after his security cover was withdrawn as a part of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann government’s exercise to crack down on VIP culture in the state. Sidhu had fought an election from Mansa in the last Assembly election on a Congress ticket, but was defeated by AAP’s Vijay Singla.
