WTM Latin America 2024 embraces the theme “The Future Is Open. Be The Change,” featuring a Digital Influencers’ Speed Networking session on April 17.
WTM Latin America 2024 is set to champion the cause “The Future Is Open. Be The Change” across all facets of the event, including a standout feature: the Digital Influencers’ Speed Networking session. This unique gathering is designed for digital influencers and content creators, providing a platform for engagement and collaboration.
Scheduled for the event’s finale on April 17, from 3 to 4 p.m., this session will take place in the Trends Theatre. This venue is dedicated to hosting insightful presentations, engaging lectures, and practical workshops that delve into the latest trends across various sectors of the travel industry over the span of three days.
Virgínia Marques, the Communications Manager at WTM Latin America, emphasizes the digital domain’s burgeoning role in transforming consumer habits within the industry. She points out the session’s objective to demonstrate the pivotal role digital professionals play in launching and promoting new products, services, and destinations within the tourism sector. The upcoming session aims to foster meaningful interactions between digital influencers, exhibitors, and professionals from the travel industry.
The format of the session will mirror past ones, with exhibitors and travel professionals engaging in 10-minute discussions with influencers or digital content creators over the course of an hour. This setup encourages dynamic exchanges, allowing participants to connect with different influencers or content creators aligned with their brand’s interests.
This year’s Digital Influencers’ Speed Networking event will be organized in collaboration with the Brazilian Travel Blogs Association (ABBV). ABBV will help curate and select 20 of the 30 participants, categorizing them into 13 distinct areas, including Afrotourism, Cultural and Historical Tourism, Diversity and Inclusion, Lifestyle and Fashion, Family and Pet Travel, Culinary Tourism, LGBTQIA+ Tourism, Women’s Travel, Accessible Tourism, Adventure Travel, Luxury Travel, Eco-friendly and Sustainable Tourism, and Budget Travel.
Luciano Palumbo, the head of ABBV, lauds this initiative as an ideal opportunity for industry professionals to engage with the digital realm in a structured and beneficial manner.
“Speed Networking is the starting point for creating outstanding strategies based on existing cases or new proposals between content producers, companies and travel destinations. It is important to remember that the space is not intended for individual classes or mentoring, but rather for developing synergies between companies looking for digital advertising and promotion campaigns,” says Palumbo.
Interested participants have until February 19 to register, with the announcement of the chosen applicants slated for March 25.
